Description:

Size 8 " high x 6.5 " wide

Unique Spring clay bird house is a great addition to any garden or apartment patio. Each house has its own number etched in the bottom and is handmade. This house can stand alone or hang up. All of the bird houses are all functioning homes, they all have ventilation holes on the upper back. There is no glaze on the inside so the chicks can climb out and no glazed is used on the entrance. This year I was able to test a couple outside for the winter and they have held up great as low as -40 c.

This is bird house is excellent for small birds and will last a life time. Although ideal for nesting in the Spring, you can leave the house up all year to provide additional shelter. If you wish to clean the house the best time is after nesting season in your area (typically Sept. 1 to Jan. 31)

Some birds like to do their own spring cleaning.

Over three years ago I started doing pottery and found that I was not so inclined to create just pots and I turned to making bird houses and loved to use my creative side.

After doing a few I began to investigate more into what birds want in a home and why they choose some homes over others. As there are thousand of different birds there are many varieties of how they nest. Some will not nest and other may only use it as a place for temporary shelter and some birds like to clean their own home. What I have found is that all birds like to be 4 - 5 ft up or higher for safety.
